6, Oaklands Mansion will sparkle with the look and mood of Christmases past. The eighth annual Open House "in the Southern tradition" will be held there from 1 until 5 p.m., it is announced by Mrs. Donald Anderson, regent of Oaklands Association, Inc. It is hoped that families and individuals from all over Middle Tennessee will come to see this handsome house in its Christmas splendor, enjoy the folk music of the Middle Tennessee University Harp Singers from 1 until 2:30, and join in the singing of familiar old carols during the remainder of the afternoon. Among features of the afternoon will be an exhibit of hand made candles, a project of the younger Members of the Association.

As in Christmases past, the stately entrance hall, parlor library-ven the bedrooms of the house-will be festooned with swags, wreaths and garlands of native greens, a towering Christmas tree decorated in traditional manner will be featured and Old-South refreshments will be served. Visitors will be welcomed by hostesses dressed in period costumes. Mrs. Earl Roberts, who is serving as general chairman of the Open House, is being assisted by Mrs. Peter J.

Schoenster, Ways and Means chairman, and a number of committees to be announced at a later date. Work is underway at the mansion, under the direction of Mrs. Robert Ra gland, House chairman, toward the restoration of the room formerly occupied by the caretakers. The House Furnishings committee, Mrs. W.

M. Smith, chairman; Mrs. W. E. Landers and Mrs.

James A. Ridley, has purchased a number of attractive items for the child's room with proceeds from the Tom Tichenor Puppet Show. Additional accessories have been acquired for several rooms in the house and other improvements have been made at the mansion this fall. The students from Thailand entertained their American hosts with recordings of Thailand music and folk dances. Mr.
