Killings' defense proceeds While the family continues to feel the loss of Lakeisha, the criminal court case file with Killing's name on it continues to grow as his court date, currently scheduled for Oct. 13, draws nearer.

Just this month, defense attorney Terry Fann filed 13 motions in the case. Collier said she "sometimes sees the cross out there and I get kind of over-protective of it I get mad if the grass gets too high around it."
