She was born in Woodbury, TN on June 15, 1938 to the late Joseph "Cricket" Pinkerton and Annie Laura (Sanders) Pinkerton. She was preceded in death by her son, Jody Pinkerton and brother, Bobby Joe Pinkerton. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, three daughters, Tina Pinkerton and Alicia Bernadette Pinkerton, both of Woodbury and Keesha Pinkerton of Markhara, IL; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jada and Nia of Woodbury; one brother, Clarence Florine Pinkerton of Detroit, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; devoted aunts, Amanda Sanders and Virginia Pinkerton, both of Woodbury and devoted cousin, Doris Jones of Murfreesboro. Alice graduated from Holloway High School in 1955. She received her LPN license February 17, 1969.

She was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Woodbury. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior September 11, 1985 at the Water Street Church of Christ in Woodbury. She was a faithful and dedicated member, and Sunday School teacher until her health declined. Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 6, 2011 from 5-8 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11 a.m., in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.

Upon his retirement he resumed his private law practice in criminal law and substituted for various judges in Rutherford County, TN in addition to working with the Public Defender's Office. Judge Clayton was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S.

Army, where he served as an Intelligence Officer and was a retired Lt. Col. in the Tennessee National Guard. He was member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the Stones River Country Club. He served as Vice President of the Rutherford County Bar Association and held various offices with the Tennessee Trial Judges Association and the Tennessee Council of Juvenile Court Judges.

He also held various offices with the Rutherford County Bar Association, the Tennessee General Sessions Conference, and the Tennessee Judicial Conference. BRIEFLY Former prosecutor arrested after sex allegations ROGERSVILLE (AP) Former Hawkins County prosecutor Doug Godbee has been arrested on charges that he offered female defendants leniency in exchange for sex. The Kingsport Times-News reports that a sealed indictment charges him with official misconduct. Nine people filed complaints against Godbee. Some of the complaints claim sexual contact but a majority simply accuse Godbee of soliciting sex. Morristown attorney Paul Whetstone represents Godbee.

He said in a statement that his client is receiving psychiatric counseling and is ready to face the allegations. Godbee served as an assistant attorney general in Rogersville for more than three decades. He resigned in 2006 amid allegations of a sexual relationship with a victim in a case he prosecuted. He was reinstated in 2008 but resigned again last September after the new allegations arose. Mild winter drops power demand in TVA region KNOXVILLE (AP) Mild weather in late winter caused less demand for electricity.

The Tennessee Valley Authority says power demand fell 6 percent in the January through March quarter, when compared with the same period last year. TVA sold 42.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the federal utility's second quarter. Power demand for the fiscal year to date, which began Oct. 1, is about 2 percent less than last year across TVA's seven-state region. The figures were included in TVA's quarterly financial filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Judge Clayton was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Cooper Clayton; a son, James K. Clayton III; a sister, Laura Keeble Clayton and a brother-in-law, Curtis Riggs Cook. Judge Clayton was a 1956 graduate of Sewanee Military Academy and received his B.A. Degree from Vanderbilt University in 1960.

He received his law degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1969. He was also a graduate of the Tennessee Judicial Academy and the Tennessee National Judicial College. Before entering the legal profession, he was office manager for his family's business, Personal Loan and Investment Company, and was unit sales manager for Proctor and Gamble Distribution Company. Before being elected judge, he had a private law practice in Murfreesboro, TN. From 1974 2008, he served as Juvenile Court Judge, General Sessions Court Judge and Circuit Court Judee for Judge James Keeble Clayton, Jr.

Judge James Keeble Clayton, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN, died May 3, 2011. He was a native of Murfreesboro, and a descended of Rutherford County and Murfreesboro's earliest settlers. He was the son of the late James Keeble, Sr. and Frances Gerhardt Clayton.

A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. John Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. 8 p.m.

He was a native of Al-lisona, TN and the son of the late Horace Lee and Odell Hendrix Holder. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Holder. Graveside service will be 2 p.m.

Friday, at Carl ton Cemetery. Brother John Herdman will offici ate. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Lorene Holder of Franklin; his sons, Michael Ross (Hae Suk) Holder of Murfreesboro, Ronald Lee (Nina Ruth) Holder of Smyrna, Randall Hugh Holder of Nashville; brothers, Edwin Holder of Mur freesboro, Horace Odell Holder of Murfreesboro; grandchild, Lillian Jean (William Loyd) Denny; great-grandchildren, Ga briel Leigh (Josh) Smoth erman, Sara Denny. Mr. Holder was a sales man for Tennessee Foods in Murfreesboro and retired from Rich Products Corporation.
