Siegel's Tori Simmons and Jill Morgan represented District 7-AAA on the TSWA AU-State Volleyball Team.

Siegel's Meredith White, Blackman's Megan Woods and Oakland's Emma Grace Goldman represented the area on the TSWA All-State Girls Soccer Team. Prather Smith Hale Hickey Woods By Will Borthick The Daily News Journal MURFREESBORO Fourteen area football players were named in three different classes to the 2013 Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team, which was released Tuesday, Dec. 31. Antonio Allen, Austin Barrett, Denzel Harding, Jauan Jennings, Jack Jones, Austin Mosier, Nick Peters, Kevin Prather, Harrison Reed, Caleb Singleton and Emmanuel Smith represented Rutherford County and District 7-AAA on the Class 6A team. Chris Hale and Trey Hick-ey represented Rutherford County and District 9-A on the Class 2A team.

D'Andre Ferby, a Rutherford County resident, was selected to the Division II-AA team. Allen, a senior linebacker from Blackman, led his team with 69 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception. The Western Kentucky commitment was also an all-district selection. Barrett, a senior defensive lineman from Oakland, finished with 72 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and an interception. The Mercer commitment was also an all-district selection.

Harding, a senior running back from Siegel, was a Mr. Football Back of the Year finalist in Class AAA, rushing for 1,188 yards and scoring 20 total touchdowns. He also finished with 298 receiving yards. Jennings, a junior athlete from Blackman, was voted the District 7-AAA Offensive MVP after throwing for 1,465 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for 795 yards and 10 touchdowns, while recording 28 tackles, two interceptions and a safety on defense.

Jones, a junior offensive lineman from Oakland, won the Class AAA Mr. Football Lineman of the Year award and the District 7-AAA Lineman MVP. The Tennessee commitment helped the Patriots average 236 rushing yards Volleyball Morgan, a junior setter, had 1,362 assists, 102 aces, 99 kills and 490 digs for the Lady Stars, which made the Class AAA state tournament, in 2013. Simmons, a junior outside hitter and an MTSU committment, was the District 7-AAA MVP and led Siegel with 514 kills, 103 aces, 43 blocks and 532 digs. Reed Ferby Goldman per game.

Mosier, a senior linebacker from Blackman, finished with 63 tackles, including 9.5 for a loss with 3.5 sacks. The all-district selection also had an interception for the 6A semifi-nalists. Peters, a senior linebacker from Siegel, recorded 96 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumbles recovered and three interceptions. He was also an all-district selection. Prather, a senior linebacker from Oakland, led District 7-AAA with 125 tackles.

The district's Defensive MVP forced six fumbles and recovered three fumbles. Reed, a senior kicker from Siegel, won the District 7-AAA Special Teams MVP for third-straight year in 2013. He converted 9-of-10 field goals and 54 point-after touchdowns. Singleton, a senior offensive lineman from Blackman, helped the Blaze average 256 rushing yards per game en route to the Class 6A semifinals. Smith, a senior defensive back from Oakland, finished with 58 tackles, three interceptions and three recovered fumbles.

The Vanderbilt com- mitment was also an all-district selection. Hale, a senior running back from Eagleville, was a Mr. Football Back of the Year finalist in Class A after running for an area-best 1,980 yards and recording 30 total touchdowns. He also added 42 tackles and three interceptions on defense. Hickey, a sophomore defensive back from MTCS, led Rutherford County with eight interceptions in 2013.

Ferby, a senior running back from Ensworth, rushed for 1,321 yards and 21 touchdowns en route to winning the II-AA Mr. Football Back of the Year award. Girls Soccer White, a senior defender, was a member of the Tennessee Soccer Coaches Association (TSCA) all-state team and was named the District 7-AAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Woods, a junior forward, was named the District 7-AAA Offensive Player of the Year and had a team-high 23 goals. She was also named to the TSCA all-state team. Goldman, a sophomore goalkeeper, was also named to the TSCA all-state team. She had 13 shutouts during the season and was named the District 7-AAA Goalkeeper of the Year.
